More content, more features, more fun!

Parallel to the development of EMERGENCY 2016 our whole team has worked on the second big expansion pack for EMERGENCY 5. It is important to us that not only costumers of EMERGENCY 2016 can enjoy the debugging and refinements of EMERGENCY, but also all the fans of EMERGENCY have a direct and free-of-charge access to more fun with the game. We would like to encourage all EMERGENCY 5 players to take a look at EMERGENCY 2016 which not only presents a marvelous voyage into the world of the plague doctors in Cologne in 1346 AD with a lot of dark age feeling – but also shows how a modern Plague could roll over Germany. Like with the first EMERGENCY 5 expansion pack (which was published in February 2015) we included all-new freeplay events as well as bugfixes and added functions. We hope all the fans of EMERGENCY have fun with EMERGENCY 5 and EMERGENCY 2016!

    • New freeplay events:
      • Hostage situation
      • Protest march
      • Water rescue
      • Major fire in appartement building
      • Major forest fire
      • Missing persons in the water
    • New unit action: when ordering "exit vehicle" command selected airborne helicopters land and disembark their cargo
    • Entering buildings: units can now enter buildings to execute actions – for instance:
      • Clear building
      • End hostage-taking
      • Evacuate building
      • Repair building
      • Stop shop holdup
      • Save people in building
    • Police now wears firearms
  • Gameplay fixes
    • When playing with a WORLD of EMERGENCY account: Fixed save game problems with the new cloud save game feature
    • Persons following a policeman using a megaphone now stop following when the policeman is entering a car
    • Fixed failing jailbreak event when all gangsters got arrested
    • Fixed instantly failing forest fire events with injured persons
    • Increased rescue dog search radius
    • In case a policeman gets wounded while arresting a prisoner, the prisoner is free again and will try to flee
    • Inside the EMERGENCY 5 Hamburg large scale operation "Flood", rescued persons could end up below a pier
    • People involved in combat now have a guaranteed distance to each other before combat starts
    • The dog of the rescue dog handler now has a guaranteed distance before retrieval begins
    • Fixed a bug where paramedics would not enter the ambulance in certain circumstances
    • People hit by gunfire are now treated by the automatics of the doctor
    • Names of player units are now localized (Russian names/characters are possible)
    • Crashed helicopters can now be towed away with the use of the tow truck
    • Police and SEK forces now return fire when they are injured
    • The fire department’s diver has been reworked for freeplay and multiplayer events
    • Fire hoses can now only be attached to the Water Tender
    • Rework of the freeplay mode:
      • In the course of the game more events can simultaneously appear for successful players
      • In the event of losing multiple events fewer events will appear
    • Rework of Caution Tape:
      • Policemen now can block streets
      • Policemen are not bound to the Caution Tape
      • Unlimited use of Caution Tape
    • Civilian behaviour has been expanded – they react to:
      • Gunfire
      • Nearby criminals
      • Events (e. g. protest marches)
      • Tourist attractions
      • and can now move properly beyond walkways
    • Traffic flow and distribution of civilians in city areas are refined
    • Multiplayer and Freeplay are immediately selectable without any necessary campaign progress
    • Tutorial can now be played again via major events

    • Added endless mode
    • The player separation (ghost mode) can now be enabled/disabled when creating a server
    • Units of other players are now shown in a grey icon on the minimap

      • SEK helicopter loaded with SEK unit

      • Motor boat transporter + rescue vessel

  • Graphics
    • Fixed random not rendered supervisor
    • Fixed no longer disappearing command target icons
    • Fixed screen flickering which could happen when using the SEK drone
    • Resolved graphical mini-map ping and icon clipping artifacts
    • Particles are now updated multi-threaded to improve the performance when there are many particles on screen
    • Texture filtering quality can now be changed inside the advanced graphics options
    • Inside the advanced graphics options, ultra texture quality can now be explicitly activated
  • Maps
    • Errors in the terrain have been resolved
    • Locations with collision problems have been reworked
    • Fixed general bugs which were causing disruption of game flow
  • Audio
    • Fixed rain and storm audio effects not being played
    • Storm audio effects are replaced
  • Input
    • Inside the options, the input layout can now be reviewed
    • Added additional shortcuts
  • World Builder
    • Fixed crash which could happen under certain circumstances when saving the terrain
    • When creating a new map by cloning an existing one, the terrain data is now cloned as well
    • Inside the object browser context menu there is now a "Layer Visibility" sub-menu with the following actions: "Hide all Layers", "Hide all Layers Except Selected", "Hide not In-game Loaded Layers" and "Unhide all Layers"
    • Improved drag'n'drop support inside the object browser
    • The material browser now also lists material assets which are inside a locked project, but in read-only-mode
    • When unlocking a project which is inside the user directory (e.g. an installed modification), there is now an option to move the project automatically at a place where project unlocking and follow up editing is allowed
    • When moving assets inside the asset browser, a dialog will now appear were one can decide whether or not to keep the global asset ID (useful for e.g. skinning modifications)
  • Modding
    • Fixed mod loading when having non-ASCII characters inside the user name
    • Siren sounds can now be edited for modded road vehicles in the "EM5 Road Vehicle" component
    • C++ SDK: Migrated to Visual Studio 2015
  • Miscellaneous
    • When logging in with a WORLD of EMERGENCY (https://www.world-of-emergency.com/) account, the player progress and savegames are now saved inside the cloud
    • Various GUI refinements to improve the look and feel
    • Various minor prefab editing refinements like tow car truck wheel replacement or rescue helicopter back rotor fix
    • Added repeating main event option inside the ingame menu
